Here are our #BusybutWell smoothie tips:
- Use fruits and veggies that don’t need to be chopped, i.e. spinach, orange, all the berries.
- Chop and freeze fruits for the week beforehand.
- Always keep a bag of frozen bananas because it’s the base of almost every smoothie! Use frozen bananas as your base so that you don’t have to blend in ice and save time on blending.
We’ve got 10 delicious breakfast smoothie ideas and recipes for you, but feel free to add anything you like. Leftover spinach in the fridge? Got organic maca powder stashed in the pantry? Feel free to toss that in too and make the most out of your breakfast smoothie for an amazing start to the day.
1. Jackfruit Pineapple Mango Smoothie
This tropical smoothie blends together jackfruit, mango, banana and pineapple for a yummy exotic resort-style breakfast smoothie. It’s so fun that you can even serve this up as a mocktail for a weekend brunch!
Tip: Use frozen banana and mango as this helps to thicken the smoothie and gives it a creamier mouthfeel, since we’re not using any milk here. According to Ayurveda, milk and jackfruit do not mix well for our digestive system so we’re going to leave the milk out.
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 1 cup of fresh jackfruit
- ½ frozen banana
- ½ cup frozen mango
- ½ cup LE FRUIT pineapple juice, fresh fruit juice with no added sugar or preservatives. You can also use this to make your pineapple tarts.
- Mint leaves, for garnish

6. Spirulina Kale Smoothie
This Spirulina Kale Smoothie may look like the beverage drank by green goddesses only, but it’s actually surprisingly good! The creaminess of the bananas and almond milk and hint of sweetness from the honey really makes the whole smoothie come together beautifully. One teaspoon of dark green spirulina powder goes a long way — this algae really packs a nutritious punch as it is rich in protein, iron and all the Vitamin Bs. Add toasted coconut flakes for garnish and an extra special treat.

7. Beetroot Orange Ginger Smoothie
This Orange Ginger Beetroot Smoothie is an immunity-boosting, anti-inflammatory morning elixir to start the day with. It’s so delicious you should try it even if you don’t like beets. Beets are also a great source of fiber, folate, Vitamin C and potassium.
Because we’re not cooking the beets first, we’ll need to dice them into smaller cubes so that they blend easily. Also go easy on adding them — one at a time, depending on how powerful your blender is. Top your beet smoothie off with a spring of rosemary for a beautiful garnish.
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1 cup raw beetroot, diced into small cubes
- 1 cup orange, peeled
- 2 cups almond milk
- 1 tsp grated ginger
8. Raw Cacao Banana Smoothie
Raw cacao has a deliciously chocolatey undertone but can get quite bitter on its own. The creamy sweetness of the bananas, raw honey and almond milk balances out the bitterness of this superfood beautifully — and this Raw Cacao Banana Smoothie will be something you’ll keep coming back to. Packed with so much nutrients, this creamy smoothie will also give you all the fuel you need to power through your morning to-do list.
